HFS+ partitions

  • check "kernel configure"
    less /boot/config-2.6.18-164.* |grep  MAC_PARTITION

    CONFIG_MAC_PARTITION=y  means one can do "read", "write", or "both".
  • check device, which one connect to Linux machine
  • mkdir /media/test
  • mount -t hfsplus /dev/sda3 /media/test
    if you gdm or whatever display manager mounts the device automatically, try to do it in a console (CTRL+ALT+F1).
  • journal must be turned off in order to get a write permission on your device.
